revision: CH 1 - Standard form

It is used when you want to write a number that's too big or too small...
[The number a x 10is in standard form when 1 ≤ a ≤ 10 and n is a positive or negative integer.]

a) 200 = 2 x 102
b) 0.004 = 4 x 10-3

Count the number of zeros for the power. If it's decimal points it's negative, and if it's too big, it's positive ;)
